The Chippy Calc was created by a qualified Australian carpenter and app developer to make onsite calculations fast and visual. After trying other apps, I found the same gap: not enough granularity and limited visualisation for detailed work. That led to building a tool tailored for carpenters and DIYers.
Development is now a dedicated focus. With a simple subscription, I keep adding calculators, refining existing ones, and shipping improvements guided by real‑world feedback. The aim is constant: fast, intuitive, and precise construction calculations.

Our Journey
First Release
Launched the first version of The Chippy Calc with a focused set of core calculators. Got the app into real hands and began collecting feedback from Aussie chippies on site.
Continuous Improvements
Shipped frequent, incremental updates: fixed edge‑case bugs, polished the UI, added helpful presets, and introduced a few new calculators. Most changes were driven by user requests and day‑to‑day jobsite needs.
Version 2.0
A major overhaul: refreshed visuals, a more robust and consistent measurement system (metric/imperial), and substantial upgrades to many calculators for better accuracy and clearer diagrams.
